RH124 Ch 2: Shell Expansion and Redirection

The WebAsha reporting desk wants a few quick files prepared from the shell. Use brace expansion, redirection and pipes instead of doing it by hand. Work as `student`.

Tasks

1. Create the empty files reportjan2026.txt, reportfeb2026.txt and reportmar2026.txt in ~/reports with a single command (create the directory first).
2. Save the list of files in /etc whose names end in .conf (top level only) to ~/conf-list.txt.
3. As student, run find /etc -name '.repo'. Send the normal output to ~/repos.txt and the error messages to ~/find-errors.txt.
4. Add the line 16:00 shift ended to the end of ~/shift.log without losing what is already there.
5. Save the number of accounts in /etc/passwd whose login shell is /bin/bash to ~/bash-users.txt (just the number).
