RH134 Ch 12: Image Mode (bootc) Build Files
WebAsha wants its intranet kiosks managed as images: the whole OS, web server included, is built like a container and rolled out with bootc. Prepare the build context in `/root/bootc` and the operator's runbook.
Tasks
- Create /root/bootc/Containerfile whose base image is the RHEL 10 bootc image registry.redhat.io/rhel10/rhel-bootc (a tag such as :10.0 is fine).
- Add an instruction that installs httpd with dnf.
- Add an instruction that enables httpd so it starts when a system boots from the image.
- Create /root/bootc/index.html containing WebAsha Kiosk and copy it into the image as /var/www/html/index.html.
- Write /root/bootc/runbook.txt with three commands, one per line: switch a host to the image registry.lab.example.com/webasha/kiosk:1.0, stage the newest version of the current image, and go back to the previous deployment.
