RH134 Ch 5: Partitions, File Systems and Swap
A new disk, `/dev/vdb`, has been added to servera for the training archive. Partition it with GPT, create XFS, ext4 and VFAT file systems plus some swap, and make every mount survive a reboot.
Tasks
- Give /dev/vdb a GPT partition table and create partition /dev/vdb1 of 1 GiB.
- Format /dev/vdb1 with XFS and the label ARCHIVE. Mount it on /archive at boot by label, and mount it now.
- Create partition /dev/vdb2 of 512 MiB, format it with ext4 and mount it on /scratch at boot by UUID.
- Create partition /dev/vdb3 of 256 MiB, format it with VFAT and mount it on /transfer at boot by UUID.
- Create partition /dev/vdb4 of 512 MiB as swap. Activate it now and at boot (by UUID).
